Roman shades have had an interior design presence since forever, with a construction that gains beauty from practicality and finds form in function. They are beautiful and low-maintenance, but what if you just want the look minus the functionality? Our faux roman shade valances will give you just what you want, at an even more affordable price point.

So if you love the look of a modern roman shade but don't need it fully functional, our cost-effective, faux/fake roman shade valances will see you there.

These fake roman shade valances have a simpler design since they don't fold up and down. This translates into a lower cost and fewer moving parts that can wear down over time, so they'll beautify your interiors even longer.

Our faux roman shades are stitched with a 2.5 inch rod pocket, so they can be mounted inside a window frame with a tension spring rod (ideally one inch diameter) or outside window frames on a decorative pole. Furthemore, they come fully lined with high-quality, white privacy lining.

Clients can choose any fabric from our collection - that's more than 2000 choices - for their faux roman shades at a same affordable price. You can further accessorise your faux roman shades with any of our trims and tassels.

HomeSewn Wisdom: A faux roman shade doesn't fold, so think of it as a static fixture and put special emphasis on length before your order. The minimum length we recommend for a fake roman shade valance is 10 inches. Do consider how much of the window you want to cover, and how much natural light you want to allow through.

Please note that due to the bespoke nature of our products, we are unable to provide exact dispatch dates for our orders. However, once your order shipment is collected by FedEx/ DHL, you will receive a dispatch notification email with tracking details to follow its journey home.

• Curtains, Roman Shades, Valances, Bed & Dining Linens: Most window treatments and dining/ bed linen orders are targeted for dispatch within three weeks of date of order, though we are able to ship out many orders ahead of schedule. We use DHL or FedEx with a typical transit time of 3-7 days.
• Curtains/ Roman Shades with Trims: Some window dressings with trims *may* take up to six weeks as many of our trimmings are sourced from Turkey & London, thereby adding to our processing timeline in some instances.
• Swatches & Fabrics by Yard: Fabric samples and fabrics bought by yard are typically delivered within 7-10 days of order.
• Accessories: We do *not* sell small accessories such as pillow covers, dining placemats, or tie backs standalone. These are sold and dispatched only as part of larger window treatment orders. Please see above for applicable timelines accordingly.

Of note:

• Since every product at Sewn is handstitched to bespoke specifications, our products are not eligible for returns, refunds, exchange or cancellations by default. 
• Image colors can vary based on individual screen settings, so we highly recommend ordering fabric swatches before placing an order for window treatments. We do not accept returns or refunds based on feedback on color variation between site images and actual fabrics, especially if samples are not ordered in advance. 
• Our roman shades include all necessary mounting hardware, but we rely on buyers to ensure compatibility of our hardware with their space. We do not accept returns based on hardware-compatibility related issues.
• For inside-mounted shades, we deduct 10mm from the width specified in the order to ensure a proper fit inside a window recess, as outlined in our Measurement Guide. Returns are not accepted on account of this industry-standard deduction on our part.
• On rare occasions, where we may have made a mistake, we do accept returns on a case-by-case basis, provided any discrepancy is communicated via email within five business days of delivery. 
• In case of a cancellation, we issue a 100% refund only if the cancellation request is received before any work has started. If production has started, only the remaining value of the order after deducting costs incurred up to that point can be refunded. Once an order is ready, cancellations for refunds are no longer possible.
